QueerDharma weekend retreat at beautiful Sky Lake, Oct 21-23, 2011
Nestled in the autumn leaves of the Shawangunk Mountains, you can get to Sky Lake in about 1 hour by commuter bus from Port Authority in NYC.
The retreat is appropriate for all levels of experience, and will include sitting practice, video teachings on Lojong, extensive walking meditation in the surrounding woods and mountains, 24hrs of silence, and a sweet opportunity for mindful (silent) group work on the Not Over Red Ribbon Project (Visual AIDS).
Lodging possibilities include single and multiple occupancy bedrooms (very limited, act fast), bring-your-own-bedding and sleep in the shrine room (that’s what I do – I bring a twin blow-up bed), and you are also free to set up your tent on the grounds.
The food is excellent and will include veggie options at every meal: the kitchen will be responsive to any special dietary restrictions.

2011 Fall Weekend Retreat planning has begun!
We will have our annual fall practice retreat this year on Oct. 21-23. It will take place at beautiful Sky Lake Lodge, an hour north of the city by bus, nestled in the autumn leaves of the Sawangunk Mountains. Put that on your calendars – details and costs will follow in the a week or two.
Our last retreat was Nov 5-7 2010 at Sky Lake. Over 30 men and women came together for a warm and joyful weekend of practice, silence, and exchanging self for others.
