May 19: CANCELLED Practice Picnic

ALL QD PRACTICE IS CANCELLED TODAY! SEE YOU NEXT WEEK AT 7PM AT OUR USUAL LOCATION.

On May 19, our usual meeting place will be unavailable, so instead we’re going to meet at 5pm outdoors on Pier 64 (near W24th Street) for meditation and snacks. We’ll have some food and feel free to bring some of your own, and some to share. We expect to go for our usual 2 hours or so, if the group and weather are supportive. Rain will cancel, but otherwise we’ll be there.

May 5: Lojong teaching by Pema Chodron

The first Sunday of every month in 2013, we’ll begin the evening with practice at 7pm, followed by a teaching on DVD by Pema Chodron on lojong, followed by dharma sharing and our usual feast. Join us!

We are moving sequentially through an extensive series of teachings on Lojong by Ani Pema, which are practical, insightful, and often hilarious.

April 14: Koshin & Chodo Zen Dharma Talk

We are very happy that Koshin and Chodo, Village Zendo Dharma Holders and founders of The New York Zen Center for Contemplative Care will join us again to give us a Dharma talk and tell us about their work in contemplative care of the sick and dying.

Feb 3: Nalandabhodi screens Queerdharma talk by Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche

In 2008, eminent teacher Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche gave a full day of wonderful teaching to QueerDharma, about Buddhism and LGBT practitioners. Rinpoche’s NYC sangha is hosting a screening of some of these talks in the early afternoon of Feb 3 — check out the details here.

Hi – since we’re closed tonight because of the hurricane, we’re going to do cyberpractice together via google+ hangout. You are welcome to join us at 7pm Eastern Time. Were you lucky enough to catch Ven. Robina Courtin‘s generous last-minute visit to QD last summer?

I’m very happy to announce she will be returning to NYC to give several talks in September, including one at QueerDharama on Sunday Sept. 23, 7pm. All are welcome!

The talk will start promptly at 7pm – Please get there early so you can be in your seats for the start!

QD Women Meeting for Tea and Conversation at the Rubin, June 24 and July 1

The QD Women will meet in the cafe at the Rubin Museum for tea and conversation at 5 pm, before the QueerDharma sitting meditation practice meetings on June 24th and July 1st. The Rubin closes at 6PM, so we’ll slowly wonder over to the QD practice meeting at that point.
